MicroRaptor Electronics

MicroRaptor has one main circuit board, mounted on top of the body.



The above image shows the circuit board. The components shown are as follows:

- ATmega128 board
- Wifi module & antenna
- 5-Axis Bus IMU
- 12 volt step-up regulator (x2)
- 3.3 volt switching regulator
- 5 volt switching regulator
- power switch block
- battery terminals
- AX-12 bus headers (x6)

The power block has four switches - the main one is for both power subsystems. The three smaller switches handle power to the electronics, the cameras, and the bus. When the bus is powered off, the data line on the bus will also be disconnected from the rest of the system using a bus switch.

Here's a picture of what I'm working on right now for the circuit board:



This is a Radio Shack prototyping board, with a printed-out circuit board outline (printed from my CAD model). I've mounted the ATmega128 board, and the carrier board for the wifi module where they will be. When I build this board for real, I will be socketing all the components, so they can be removed if I need to redo the board.
